RANT WARNING: Joe Biden is an ideologue and an idiot, but he is part of a dangerous cabal that may flourish after November 2012. Make no mistake about it, if Obama is reelected there will almost certainly be a new initiative to regulate the personal ownership, possession and carrying of firearms in this country. These people are dangerous in that they cannot conceive of why an individual should want (or be allowed) to take responsibility for their own safety. I assume they think that the government will take care of that too.
Their recent previous efforts have back fired , i.e.: Gun walker, fast and furious, Gabby Giffords shooting propaganda and , now, they will try to make hay on the corpse of Trayvon Martin and reputation of George Zimmerman.
If you care about restrictive government control of your God-given right to self defense, and your Constitutionally codified right to keep and bear arms in pursuit of this, you should be alarmed, aware and ready to communicate and act.
That said, the following is a bit of idiocy and media-mediocrity at work: I.e., in the present case a gun did make George Zimmerman safer, but whether he used it criminally or not remains to be seen. You see Mr. Biden, George Zimmerman is alive and well. Trayvon Martin is dead.
Biden should study logic and rhetoric.
CBS News Vice President Joe Biden said Florida’s “Stand Your Ground” gun laws will be a topic of debate in light of the controversy surrounding the shooting of Trayvon Martin.“It’s important that people be put in a position where their Second Amendment rights are protected, but that they also don’t, as a consequence of the laws, unintendedly put themselves in harm’s way,” Biden told anchor Bob Schieffer in an interview to air on “Face the Nation” on Sunday.Florida’s gun laws allow people to shoot in self-defense if they feel threatened. Mr. Biden, who was chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee for eight years, said that the Martin case underscores the need to ensure public safety in accordance with current gun laws.”The idea that there’s this overwhelming additional security in the ownership and carrying concealed and deadly weapons… I think it’s the premise, not the constitutional right, but the premise that it makes people safer is one that I’m not so sure of,” Biden said. … via Trayvon case could spur gun laws debate – CBS News.
