Cameras: the great equalizer. Behold Deputy Sgt. Shawn R. Glans (No, I am not making that up… how appropriate) getting his panties in a wad after being told to uphold the law and obtain a search warrant. You see, these two nitwits (Adam Roberts and Colin Fitch) reportedly had left a .22 rifle on the back seat of their car in the Peoples Socialist Republic of NewYorkistan. Not a good move boys…
But, Deputy Sgt. Pencil-Dick shows up – for whatever reason – and wants to get into the parked, locked car. Stasi theatre of the Absurd ensues:
Now, the stress of the day-to-day that may have caused the fine deputy’s lapse in judgement may have been compounded by the paltry compensation he endured – $87,156 in 2014 – exacerbated by the fact that he only got a $7,000 raise (or overtime?) in the past year. I.e:
Shawn R and his wife Carrie M. (nee Bohanon) Glans reportedly purchased the home at 3 Tanglewood Drive, South Glens Falls NY on or about March 19, 2014 for $204,000 from Dolores Chittendon Here is what that house reportedly looked like in 2013 – before the purchase.
——————————–
A New York deputy with the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Department was caught on film early Friday morning slapping a young man who declined to have his vehicle searched. According to Adam Roberts, who spoke with Infowars after uploading the disturbing video to YouTube, he and his friend Colin Fitch were approached by two deputies while shopping inside a WalMart that evening.
After being forced to present their IDs, the pair were taken outside to Colin’s vehicle and asked about a .22 rifle on the backseat.
As Colin explained that he had just purchased the rifle earlier that day at a nearby store, a deputy Shawn Glans began demanding access to the vehicle, despite Colin proving that he was of legal age to own it.
“So they started questioning us and were very ornery and asking about the gun and what not and then Colin asked him what we had done wrong and what he was charging us with and he didn’t give us a good answer,” Roberts said.
Choosing to assert his Fourth Amendment, Colin told Deputy Glans that he would not consent to a search unless a warrant was obtained.
“But he said he wanted to search the car… and my friend Colin asked him what his reason was for and the cop went on about how he just wanted to check, and Colin didn’t really feel like he had a real reason.”
After failing to coerce Colin into opening the vehicle, Deputy Glans became irate, ironically at the constitutional right he swore to uphold.
“Let me see your f*cking keys… I’m searching your f*cking car,” Deputy Glans said, taking Colin’s keys against his will.

Now it seems that Storm Trooper Penis-Glans is not quite a stranger to unprofessional behavior. In March,1996 he cost the citizens of NewYorkistan millions in an attempt to relive the adrenaline rush of The Dukes of Hazard shows he watched in the 70’s, turning taxpayer Douglas H. McEachron into a non-taxpaying quadriplegic, by hurtling thru a 20mph zone at about 60 mph before the impact. I.e.:

Indeed. I have to say I know a few cops, and had several family members that were as well, and this sort of nonsense would disgust those good folks. The problem is that the perception is that this sort of conduct is getting to be more common, and that there is no recourse for Joe Citizen. And THAT is why I love the fact that cameras are everywhere.

Sticks and stones may break a bone but words will never hurt anyone, cld’ve done without the slap tho.. just write him up, a little anger- therapy maybe and let’s get on with the upholding! Don’t leave a gun out in open in your car dipshits and this wld never have happened! Where’s the respect anymore?.. like to see that again!
And what exactly is the purpose for telling where the officer resides and whom he and wife purchased from? Talk about respect!!
Everyone is a little to blame but let’s not way overthink this! the fact is, the stupid kids had a .22 in the backseat of their car, showing. Doesn’t look so good when you see all the crap going down at Walmart Stores across the country!

Nevermind the violations of the 4th Amendment? Does respect entail giving up your rights? At what point in the video was the victim of this police action disrespectful, in your opinion?

Anonymous: The purpose of showing the publicly (and easily) available information on this fine pubic servant is merely to mirror information. That’s it. If in so doing, however, the public servant feels a chill of exposure, lack of anonymity, violation of his rights, unwarranted reproach, even a hint of fear for some reason, well then I cannot control how he feels.
I do note, coincidentally however, that those may have been some of the feelings that he subjected the two nitwits he bitch-slapped that night. Again though, such was was not my intention. GE.

What kind of moron argues that people should avoid legal behavior?

to the last anonymous person who blames the young men because they had a rifle in thier backseat, really??? So, your point is they should hide it. Even the by the law they were right and the police where breaking the law some how it’s not there fault. The one that is trained to uphold the law should not be acountable for them??? Respect??? The only one not being respectful is the officer, so why should anyone show him any???

Blaming the victim aside, “Sticks and stones may break a bone but words will never hurt anyone, cld’ve done without the slap tho.. just write him up, a little anger- therapy maybe and let’s get on with the upholding!”
I don’t think so. He’s unfit for the position and should be released from service. Charge him and let the first on the list be the assault. If he wants to reapply for a position sure that’s his option, but he should be fired from this one.
Also, his partner is there for a reason. His unwillingness to perform his duties when his partner is actively committing a crime is unacceptable and he should also be held accountable.

What? hold up…… They were approached in the Walmart while they were “shopping” that’s a load of bull shit they really need publish the other side of the story. I’m not saying that hitting the kid was right. But what was there reason for stopping the kids it’s not because the gun was on the back seat. It’s because they suspected they were planning on robbing a house or store because of the string of break ins In the past week or so. That’s kinda weird they were seen coming out the woods wearing black everything with a black ski hat on and trying to drive off like they went doing anything tell they pulled into Walmart parking lot . And you think that 80 sec video is the whole thing I think not. They were probably being ass holes to the cop 10 min befor hand and only showing what makes the cop look bad and make them look like little victims. That’s my thought about the hole thing say what you want those kids just look like ass holes with his little haha grin. Oh and props to fly 92.3 for bashing that kid they know what’s up. Those kids will get what’s coming to them Carmas a bitch.✌️

Oh I agree, the kids are punks AND stupid. No argument. But – following your interpretation then the Deputy had probable cause to arrest them. Which the Deputy SHOULD have done then, no? Then he had cause to enter the car to inspect the freakin’ gun which the idiots left in full view. Right? No?? BUT then why was the Deputy asking for the keys to enter the car??
I suspect that Dep was asking for consent to search because he had no cause to arrest.
That’s why.
And, getting frustrated that he could not collar these shitbags, he lost his mind (or suffered an narcissistic break) and then violated some laws himself.

Yes, I agree. You know though we all lose our way sometimes, even the Deputy. Its easy to want his ass, want to see him him suffer, but really all we should expect is justice. He should be investigated, fired and charged if the situation warrants is all. That is – I think – all i would hope for. And who knows, perhaps the guy gets his crap together, grows up, becomes a better man??

I see 5 hashmarks on this idiot’s sleeve. Usually 3 or 5 years per stripe, so that’s between 15 and 25 years service. This is not a dumb rookie mistake, this guy thinks his shiny badge grants him privileges. It doesn’t. If he doesn’t want to do his job and serve the public, he needs to retire. Or go to jail. Whatever. A long walk off a short pier could work.
