NYC gun control at work: Many injured in Memorial Day shootings –  Manhattan, Queens, Staten Island

New York City police responded to four shootings within three hours on Sunday during the Memorial Day weekend.

The first shooting happened around 9:30 p.m. Sunday, at 111th Street First Avenue, in front of the Thomas Jefferson Houses.  Police say a dispute started between a 25-year-old man and another man which resulted in the 25-year-old being shot in the stomach. The suspect fled the scene towards Second Avenue.The victim was transported to New York Hospital in stable condition.

The second incident happened around 10:50 p.m. at 155th Street and 118th Avenue in Queens.Police responded to find three men had been shot. They were transported to the hospital in stable condition.

Just a few minutes later police responded to a third shooting in Queens — at 91-60 110th Street, to find two men shot, one in the leg and the other in the stomach. They were transported to Jamaica Hospital in stable condition.

Police later responded to a fourth shooting at 20 Prince St. around 11:18 p.m.  A man was found sitting in his car with a gunshot wound to his head. He was rushed to Richmond University in critical condition.
