BATFE attempts to intimidate patriot blog-o-sphere by attacking the Charles Carroll Society over coverage | CCS

“I believe that being despised by the despicable is as good as being admired by the admirable.”  — Kurt Hoffman, in his Armed & Safe blog

Out of the entire Internet, the Charles Carroll Society and The Federalist Papers are singled out by the BATFE and US Attorney for their coverage of the immoral and unconstitutional raids conducted by the BATFE against Ares Armor.  Why do you think the BATFE and the Obama administration has personally attacked this blog?

ares-armor0

In one of the most amazing things I have ever seen, the BATFE, one of the most lawless agencies we have has targeted this small community here on the Charles Carroll Society (CCS). The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (BATFE), specifically the United States Attorney listed the Charles Carrol Society as the example for their reason not to provide the names of the federal agents who lied to support the novel decision (that means B.S. for the rest of us) to say that an 80% lower is a firearm.  Why didn’t they target the Drudge Report? Why not Alex Jones Info War?  Those blogs covered the unconstitutional seizure of customer records from Ares Armor.   Because those blogs have lawyers and they have very loud voices.  Why not Cam at NRA News?  They wouldn’t dare.  They attack the smallest blogs.  Please forward this to the largest voices in the patriot blog-o-sphere and ask them to cover itContinue reading

In Praise of: Red Ice Radio

So I have been listening to some of these shows lately and find them thought provoking, balanced, fair and well outside the mainstream pap shoveled at us.  Sort of like Coast-to-Coast radio but without the delusionas and voices coming out of the toasters and such. Go here and check it out:  http://www.redicecreations.com/radio/nonsubscriber.php  I will add a permalink to the blogroll.  GE.

In praise of “The Shrugging Out Podcast”

Shrugging Out Podcast

I discovered The Shrugging Out Podcast a few months ago. I did not quite know what to make of it, I admit, until I went through and download several of the earlier episodes and listened to them in chronological order.

The site’s author / Podcaster Peter Farron (sp?) is extremely intelligent, sane, analytical and well thought out:  The podcasts are obviously well-prepared in advance and – notwithstanding the intro music – an aesthetic pleasure to listen to.

The content of the shows centers on issues relating to self-sufficiency with a philosophical unpinning in libertarianism, and often draws premises from Ayn Rand’s writings.  In his shows, however, Farron does not shy away from the less ethereal:  He usually address current news issues, his own process of awakening and what he is doing about it in his dynamic transformation from ‘typical’ patriotic conservative to neo-patriotic libertarian survivalist (my half-assed and inadequate label, not his).

All in all, well worth the time and well worth spreading around to those with interests in libertarianism, survivalism and prepping, Ayn rand, current events, politics and the like.

I am through about 60 of his podcasts now, and will post a permalink to the blogroll.  GE.

The Fort Hood Shooting vs. the Gun Control media | via YouViewed\Editorial

Well stated at YouViewed\Editorial blog (I have edited for emphasis):

When you look at recent mass shootings that have occurred recently there is one specific incident that is very rarely if ever mentioned by the liberal media and Gun Control advocates.

The Ft. Hood Shooting is never cited or discussed or even mentioned by the Anti’s and Gun grabbers like Bloomberg, Schumer, Boxer, Feinstein, McCarthy or Cuomo. They only cite the TucsonAurora and Sandy Hook events as reason to restrict law abiding citizens their rights. WHY?

One must make a few assumptions to uncover why they rarely if ever cite the Ft. Hood mass shooting in their quest to deny law abiding citizens their 2nd Amendment rights.

  1. …because it occurred on a military installation while Obama was the Commander in Chief;
  2. …because the perpetrator was Muslim and it is not politically correct because the President himself sympathizes with the Muslim plight across the world;
  3. …because the victims were military personnel and they just don’t have the same impact as civilians and children for good demagoguery.

Is the time for discourse ending? | Grey Enigma

Writing on blogs, letters to Senators, calls to Congressmen, letters to editors, getting the vote out, donating money, responding to idiots, talking the talk and walking the walk…

Somehow these seem neither effective nor rational to me these days.  Wondering if this is just the a Conservative’s version of Liberal’s ‘candlelight vigil’ –  makes you feel like your doing something, but nothing actually changes.

I think we are approaching the Rubicon. Next stop Rome? GE.

Mr. Biden: I’ll be keeping my guns, you have gone too far | The Grey Enigma

The President IS going to act…they’re executive orders, executive action, that can be taken…we haven’t decided what that is yet, but we’re compiling it all with help of the attorney general and, uhh, and all the rest of the cabinet members, as well as the legislative action we believe is required… via Modern Survival Blog.

RANT WARNING: So, as followers of this blog have figured out I don’t usually opine much, preferring to let the things I cross post speak for themselves.  I fear we are at the threshold, however, of some new and nasty developments in this latest act in our ‘gun control’ kabuki theater and I can’t keep my mouth shut. GE Rant: Sen. Bob Menedez’ (D-NJ) OpEd arguing why New Jersey’s unconstituional gun laws need to go national | APP

GE Rant Warning (long):  I am loathe, loathe to wade into the morass of the 2nd Amendment discussion because so many of you are smarter and more well informed than I.  But as the top of my head is about to come off, I will keep this brief and – likely – unintelligible.

In my opinion Senators Mendenez, Lautenberg, Schumer and their ilk are morally bankrupt,  deluded or simple.  These men are career pols, public parasites and – at heart – each is a collectivist and authoritarian in my view.  They value and defend only their own life, liberty and pursuit of happiness, yours and mine is a problem to be managed for the ‘common good.’

Schumer may, from time to time, visit his wife Iris Weinshall for lunch in the Bronx (she’s on CUNY’s public teat. Tt’s a family thing)  … but we are assured he is driven only to the good section. Lautenberg leaves New Jersey spends his weekends and summers in Martha’s Vineyard where – to the best of my knowledge – the Crips and MS-13 have yet to gain a foothold.  Menendez seems to have his staffers writing disjunct, illogical falsehoods about his states gun control laws, while he and his security detail are likely off on a summer trip sponsored by the AFL-CIO or the Bankers Association. Menendez opines:

It could have happened here in New Jersey. We knew this as we learned of the horrible gun violence that erupted in Aurora, Colo., July 20. Continue reading

Paul Mooney blows past Rush Limbaugh at Mach 5.7. Shockwave creates atmospheric double standard | Grey Enigma

RANT WARNING:  So, I admit that I find comedian Paul Mooney funny, just as I admit that i occasionally listen to Rush Limbaugh if I am driving.  I caught little snippets last week of the faux controversy whereby Rush supposedly called Sex Addicted, but Impoverished, Ms, Fluke a “slut” .. an apropos epithet that seems to have caused Limbaugh advertiser Sleep Number Bed to leave him as quickly as Ms. Fluke reportedly gets into hers.

OK, whatever, anything to paint our Vicodin chewing, bombastic captain as negatively as possible as often as possible, even though we are told he is irrelevant. I get it.

(Then, BTW, traumatized by the fact that the Ms. Fluke – reportedly a 30 year old activist and therefore either a really stupid or lazy ‘college student’ who perhaps should spend more time studying than screwing – was called a nasty name by someone he should care less about, our President was forced into contemplation of his daughters for some weird reason. BHO then reportedly felt compelled to call Ms. Fluke and express support for her sex life. WTF?! A little creepy there BHO…)

Do not lose sight of the foundational issues here, i.e. those whereby the Federal Government seeks to abrogate 1st Amendment rights on freedom of religion (and, arguably, establishment of a government religion) and also seeks to force the individual into a collectivist and coerced system of health care purchasing for which the Federal Government has no power.  The shadow diversion issues of “sexism”, “gender-ism”, “class-ism”, “racism”, “social justice”  and all the other divisive “-isms” are just another dose of the incessant smoke screen we are faced with as our society, culture, rights and economy are devalued, changed or stolen outright.

But, even the dumbest among us (like me) can see a crushing double standard in the smokescreen of the faux issues.  OK, Rush Limbaugh calls some narcissistic, messianic sex-fiend a slut when she comes to us – hand out – expecting us to pay for her free condoms and dental-dams while she is enrolled in a Catholic College, replete with moral restrictions, of her own choosing.  Not only is she reasonably called a slut, but a stupid and entitled slut at that. (My words, not Rush’s.)

Now compare that considered opinion, to this stream of sexist, racist, unsolicited bile – although funny – from comedian, Obama supporter and stanchion of the left Paul Mooney, and ask yourself where is the outcry against HBO for airing these opinions?

I.e. forward to 2:39 into the clip as Paul opines on Sarah palin (who as far as i know pays for her own condoms.)

FOUL LANGUAGE WARNING. You’ve been advised. Deal.

Rant warning re “Does Reproductive Freedom Imply a Right to Free Birth Control? | Reason Magazine

RANT WARNING: I am so over this faux controversy, this conflation of “wants” with “needs”, “privileges” with “rights”, “health” with “behaviors”.  On the one hand this nonsensical issue is so illuminating of the poverty of the left / Obama / Obamacare / Socialism premises. On the other this is a painful distraction from real or truthful regarding things such as:

  • The role of the Federal Government in personal needs and wants;
  • Duties of others to meet needs and wants of the some;
  • The constitutional constraints on Executive authority;
  • The spinelessness of the Legislative branch;
  • The reproach-ability of the Judicial branch (coming soon?);
  • The long ignored overpopulation issue (wonder what Paul Ehrlich thinks of this state of affairs?);
  • The recent synonymy of “pregnancy” with “disease”;
  • The implied misanthropy and human-hating premise of the left and this contraception policy;
  • The apparent supplanting of some non-existent ‘birth control debate’ for the ‘abortion debate” which has devolved into an electoral non-starter on which progressives have traditionally relied;
  • How this relates to Obama’s low approval ratings among women and the coming election;

My head will burst if I think about this any more…Thank you Rush Limbaugh BTW.

Fulke limbaugh rights needs wants health care slut comment free abortion abortifacientsvia Reason MagazineSupporters of Obama’s birth control rule conflate liberty with subsidies, insisting that you are not really free to do something (in this case, use contraceptives) unless it’s free. According to this logic, observant Jews do not have religious freedom unless the government pays for their kosher food, bloggers do not have freedom of speech unless taxpayers buy them computers, and Americans in general do not have a right to keep and bear arms if they have to pay for guns with their own money. By contrast, the religious institutions that object to the contraceptive mandate are not asking for subsidies; they are resisting them. They object to a regulation that forces them to pay for products and services they consider immoral. They want the freedom to offer their employees health plans that do not cover contraception and sterilization…

The offended class. Some thoughts on Thought Policing | The Grey Enigma

RANT WARNING. I am tired today.  I am exhausted by carrying the psychological weight of thin-skinned victims, the permanently offended class among us that wants, first, that we respect each of their ‘sensibilities’ by restricting what we say.  Oh were we only referencing yelling fire in the Theater of the Absurd. Sadly, nothing that apparent, that real. No.

No nuanced and tangential reference to gender, race, nationality, bedroom practices, economic stratum or political dogma is too small to merit their laser-like scrutiny and missile-like response.  It would seem that the stuff in my head is so profound a threat to their presumed rights and very existence that each of my opinions must pass muster or be scrubbed from the collective unconscious.
