In order to legally operate a motor vehicle on public roads in America today, citizens must abide an astonishing array of affronts to even the most basic concepts of civil liberty. Heavy-handed and infuriatingly arbitrary traffic patrols, mass collection of their locational data, grossly exorbitant fees and fines, statutorily unavoidable “checkpoints,” the ever-present threat of (age/gender/racial) profiling, relinquishment of due process rights—the list goes on, and on, and on. According to John Bowman of the National Motorists Association, one of the few organized efforts to lobby single-mindedly on behalf of preserving roadway liberties, conditions appear to be worsening at an accelerating pace. “Based on the reports we see here,” he told me, “and we do monitor this stuff pretty carefully, I would say the general erosion of motorists’ privacy rights has escalated over the past few years.”

Like AGW and the carbon scare, the greens and sheeple were duped by corporate ag into believing that pouring topsoil, RoundUp and tractor fuels into the gas tanks on their Honda Accords would ‘save’ the planet. Ethanol producers are panicking amid speculation that the ethanol mandate could be drastically reduced or scrapped entirely this year as the biofuel loses its allure and bipartisan allies and former friends team up against it.
December saw California Democrat Dianne Feinstein—a renewable fuel champion–coordinate efforts with Oklahoma Republican Tom Coburn to come up with a Senate bill to get rid of ethanol from the Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS), citing fears that corn-based fuel production mandates will harm livestock producers.
In November, Washington proposed cutting the biofuels mandate for 2014 by 16% to 15.21 billion gallons. This would be the first cut in biofuels requirements, which were ideally set to grow each year with incremental increases in renewable fuel targets laid out in a 2007 law.
For renewable fuel targets, this represents a major setback because not only is 15.21 billion gallons for 2014 much less than the originally intended 18.15 billion gallons, it is also less than this year’s mandate of 16.55 billion gallons.
Two years ago the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) approved the E15 blend, which contains 15% ethanol and 85% gasoline, for vehicles manufactured in 2001 or later. There has been little progress towards widespread use of E15 though, and today’s blend is commonly E10. Continue reading

Well the more I dig into all these conspiracy assertions, the less convinced I am that there is any ‘there’ there. Most of the assertions that the shooting was embellished, staged, had factual errors etc. are not reasonable/ I.e. see here for an excellent synopsis-repsonse to all of that. I find no compelling evidence that the shooting was any more than it was reported to be: A murder spree, perpetrated by a nutjob. If new evidence is published I might change my mind. GE. ———
Previously I had stated: The Sandy Hook / Newtown CT crimes puzzle me. Having done a fair amount of forensic investigation in another life, there are so many things about this event that are too vague or coincidental to rule out some of what appear at first blush to be just kooky conspiracy theories.
In cases like this – i.e. where there is a lot of evidence, much of it testimonial and based on interviews of 1st hand witnesses and 2nd hand investigators – there will be few simple questions definitively answerable. Instead, the best a reviewer will be able to determine is simply the most reasonable inferences and explanations based upon the facts and evidence. Continue reading
