shane-maugerShane Mauger

On September 9, 2016, the United States Department of Justice announced that Reynoldsburg Police Officer Shane M. Mauger, 42, of Columbus, Ohio, was sentenced in U.S. District Court to 33 months in prison for using his position as a police officer to deprive people of their civil rights by falsifying search warrant affidavits and unlawfully seizing money and property during drug trafficking investigations.

An undercover officer, Tye Downard, was implicated in the case but committed suicide after he was arrested.  A third officer connected to the case was suspended earlier this year.

Mauger agreed to plead guilty to one count of federal program theft, and conspiracy to deprive persons of their civil rights.  Each count carries a sentence of up to 10 years in prison.  In addition to the 33 month prison sentence, Federal Judge Marbley also ordered Mauger to remain under court supervision for 2 years after…

NJ: Police shoot, kill Father-of-the-Year in New Brunswick

Capture

Diahlo Grant, reportedly armed, was shot and killed by Franklin Township police at 1:30AM after they reportedly confronted him over outstanding warrants for violation of probation and failure to pay child support.  You will have to wade through the agit-prop in the actual “report” video at CBS to get to that fact though, as they are to busy painting the guy as father of the year.

Dialho Grant, of Somerset, was pursued by two Franklin Township police officers after an encounter on Somerset and Home Streets, officials said.  The officers followed Grant across the town border into New Brunswick where an exchange of gunfire occurred shortly after 1:30 a.m., according to police. Grant was wounded in the exchange and one of the police officers involved provided cardio-pulmonary resuscitation while waiting for emergency medial personnel to arrive at the scene. Grant was transported to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital and was pronounced dead  Grant’s gun was recovered at the scene.leaves behind six children … Source: Officials Investigate…

Mr. Father-of-the-Year leaves behind 5 (soon to be 6) kids, and an indeterminate number of baby mommas, because he was out wandering the streets, illegally armed, at 1:30AM on a Saturday night.  All the family men I know were home at time watching over their kids.

None had outstanding warrants at the time.

NJ: Fake cop, armed w/ gun, pulls woman over in Teaneck

The suspect: White male, 5 feet 9 inches and 170 pounds, with a thin build, dark eyes, and brown hair, he is in his 40’s.

TEANECK, N.J. (CBSNewYork) — He had a gun, flashing lights on his car and claimed to be a cop, but real police in Bergen County said the man was a phony.  The suspect allegedly pulled a woman over with blue flashing lights and had a gun on his hip.It happened last Saturday around 11 a.m. on River Road and Deerbord Street. The woman knew something just wasn’t right. Police said the lights were the first giveaway. A vehicle with only blue flashing lights is not an official police officer.

He got out of his vehicle and approached her car, identified himself as a detective, and said that she was speeding,” said Teaneck police Detective Lt. Andrew McGurr… The quick-thinking woman took off, and police said she did the right thing.

“Our officers know what to do, that they are to identify themselves and if someone has a problem with that they will request a marked unit to respond to the location,” McGurr said.

NJ:  Former police officer sent to jail and ordered to $321k he stole from the State

Here’s a real friggin’ genius that was once of the NJ’s finest.  What a dope.

John Marion, ex-NJ Cop, thief and now inmate. Really not the brightest bulb on the tree either.

John Marion, a former police officer in Waldwick Borough, N.J., was sentenced today for stealing more than $321,000 by fraudulently collecting a disability pension from the State of New Jersey while working full-time as an officer in Georgia.

John Robert Marion, 44, of Valdosta, Georgia, was sentenced to 364 days in the county jail as a condition of four years of probation by Superior Court Judge Peter E. Warshaw in Mercer County. He was immediately taken into custody to begin serving his jail term. Marion pleaded guilty on Nov. 12 to a charge of third-degree theft by deception. He must pay full restitution of $321,008 and is permanently barred from public employment in New Jersey. He turned over a check for $100,000 in court today toward that restitution… The investigation began with a referral from the Pension Fraud & Abuse Unit in the New Jersey Division of Pensions.

New York: New NYPD Policy to Patrol Protests with Machine Guns

Starvin Larry

2014_07_bratton10a.jpg(ANTIMEDIA) NEW YORK, NY- NYPD Commissioner Bill Bratton announced Thursday that 350 heavily armed NYPD officers, called the “Strategic Response Group,” will soon be patrolling protests and the city at large.

He said the new strain of hyper-armed police will be

“…equipped and trained in ways that our normal patrol officers are not. They’ll be equipped with all the extra heavy protective gear, with the long rifles and machine guns — unfortunately sometimes necessary in these instances.”

Bratton announced  their purpose is specifically

“…designed for dealing with events like our recent protests, or incidents like Mumbai or what just happened in Paris.”

Lumping protesters in with terrorists, he said the permanent force will deal with “disorder control and counterterrorism protection capabilities.” It will allegedly assist on crime scenes and help with “crowd control and other large-scale events.”

It is not unusual for authorities to ramp up “security”…

Cleveland police officer shoots 12-year-old boy carrying BB gun | cleveland.com

CLEVELAND, Ohio — A rookie Cleveland police officer shot a 12-year-old boy outside a city recreation center late Saturday afternoon after the boy pulled a BB gun from his waistband, police said.

Police were responding to reports of a male with a gun outside Cudell Recreation Center at Detroit Avenue and West Boulevard about 3:30 p.m., Deputy Chief of Field Operations Ed Tomba said.

A rookie officer and a 10-15 year veteran pulled into the parking lot and saw a few people sitting underneath a pavilion next to the center. The rookie officer saw a black gun sitting on the table, and he saw the boy pick up the gun and put it in his waistband, Cleveland Police Patrolmen’s Association President Jeffrey Follmer said.

The officer got out of the car and told the boy to put his hands up. The boy reached into his waistband, pulled out the gun and the rookie officer fired two shots, Tomba said.

Tomba said the child did not threaten the officer verbally or physically…. cleveland.com.

Leaked DHS Document Predicts Rise of “Anti-Government Violence” In The Next Year | Activist Post

collapse unrest

EDITOR’S NOTE: A rise in unconstitutional activity would certainly facilitate and inspire a rise in “anti-government violence”. Let’s not forget that there would have never been a Bundy Ranch confrontation if the Feds had not denied protestors their 1st Amendment rights and inserted snipers to intimidate the Bundy family. Perhaps the DHS will fulfill its own prophecy through its own arrogance…

A leaked document from the Department of Homeland Security’s Office of Intelligence and Analysis predicts increased “anti-government violence over the next year.” The document says the inspiration for violence is Cliven Bundy’s Bunkerville standoff with the Bureau of Land Management from earlier in the year.

DHS’s seven-page report entitled Domestic Violent Extremists Pose a Threat to Government Officials and Law Enforcement points to the recent murders of two Las Vegas law enforcement officers as evidence that there is a “growing trend of anti-government violence compared to the previous four years and inspired by perceived government overreach and oppression” and the “perceived victory at Bunkervile” will “likely prompt more violence.”

Bundy’s 20-year legal dispute with the BLM over grazing fees on federal land escalated when the agency attempted to seize his cattle in the beginning of April. An armed stand off between the BLM and supporters of Bundy ensued until the feds backed off before any serious violence erupted and left the 67-year-old rancher’s land.

Jerad and Amanda Miller, a husband and wife who were at the Bundy ranch, later killed three people in Las Vegas, including two police officers, before killing themselves. The two left an ominous note, swastika, and Gadsden flag by the bodies of both officers. Ammon Bundy, son of rancher Cliven Bundy, told the Associated Press the Millers were not welcome at the Ranch and were kicked out after a few days, calling them “very radical” and that they didn’t “align themselves” with the Bundy’s protest movement.

Drivers Get Screwed Over Constantly in America | VICE

In order to legally operate a motor vehicle on public roads in America today, citizens must abide an astonishing array of affronts to even the most basic concepts of civil liberty. Heavy-handed and infuriatingly arbitrary traffic patrols, mass collection of their locational data, grossly exorbitant fees and fines, statutorily unavoidable “checkpoints,” the ever-present threat of (age/gender/racial) profiling, relinquishment of due process rights—the list goes on, and on, and on. According to John Bowman of the National Motorists Association, one of the few organized efforts to lobby single-mindedly on behalf of preserving roadway liberties, conditions appear to be worsening at an accelerating pace. “Based on the reports we see here,” he told me, “and we do monitor this stuff pretty carefully, I would say the general erosion of motorists’ privacy rights has escalated over the past few years.”

Leaked Counter Terrorism Bulletin Warns Police of Impending ‘Far-Right Violence’ | Reclaim Our Republic & InfoWars

Bulletin warns of those who believe in “government gun confiscation”

June 13, 2014 by Mikael Thalen

A leaked New York State Counter Terrorism Bulletin provided exclusively to Infowars reveals how law enforcement are being told to prepare for increased violence from “far-right extremists.”

Published by the New York State Intelligence Center, the document, entitled “CTB 14-07: Recent Spike in Violence Targeting Law Enforcement,” details several recent shootings while warning police to be on the look out for people displaying anti-government viewpoints. Excerpts:

“Over the last week there have been three attacks – one in Canada and two in the United States – in which law enforcement officers were targeted, leading to the death of five officers and one civilian,” the bulletin states. “Based upon reporting it appears all the suspects in these incidents were motivated by elements of a far right anti-government ideology with a particular fixation on law enforcement.

Michael Brian Vanderboegh, a longtime militia member and founder of the III Percent Patriot Movement which was supported by Jerad and Amanda Miller, traveled to NYS at least once in 2013 to speak to the Liberty Oath Keepers meeting in Monticello, NY.  The III Percent Patriots are a militia group comprised primarily of gun rights extremists who believe in the need to use violence against the government to prevent what they believe to be an impending seizure of all private firearms. The name derives from “an obscure, and not particularly accurate, Revolutionary War ‘statistic’ that claimed that only 3% of the American population during the Revolutionary War participated as combatants in the war. ..

The Oath Keepers is an organization composed of current and former military and law enforcement personnel who take a pledge to not obey unconstitutional orders such as orders to disarm the American people, to conduct warrantless searches, or to detain Americans as enemy combatants.  There have been multiple observed instances of overlapping membership in the Oath Keepers and the III Percent Patriots, and the Oath Keepers’ founder has spoken supportively of the III Percent Patriot Movement.

The recent attacks serve to highlight a trend of growing violence by far right extremists that is likely to continue in the near term.  While attacks by lone offenders or small groups, common amongst far right extremists, are often difficult to detect and can occur with little or no warning, law enforcement should remain vigilant to any indicators or suspicious activity related to the persistent far right extremist threat...”

Ladies and Gentlemen of the Jury, Why Would They Do This? | Simple Justice

Cops conducted an illegal search of a house. So far, nothing new here. Cops found nothing. Still, nothing new. Cops decide to plant meth in the house. Interesting, but nearly impossible to prove. Cops get caught on their own dashcam talking about it. Bingo!

From Courthouse News:

A police car dash cam captured Santa Clara deputies plotting to plant drugs in a woman’s home after their first illegal search turned up nothing, the woman claims in court.

Allison Ross, who was arrested after the second search of her home, sued the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Department, its crime lab, Sheriff Laurie Smith, and 12 of her officers, in Federal Court.

Someone always asks, can the cops be so stupid that they would forget there is video and audio running, and talk about it openly?  Well, apparently so, though the question isn’t necessarily about the degree of stupid as opposed to the degree of brazen.  Force of habit dies hard. Continue reading

BREAKING: CONNECTICUT POLICE REFUSE TO ENFORCE NEW GUN CONTROL LAWS!

Powdered Wig Society

by Clark Kent, America’s Freedom Fighters

A showdown is developing between a sizable number of Connecticut state police officers and the politicians who passed into law highly restrictive gun control, gun bans, and bans on high capacity magazines.

Gun rights legal expert and activist David Hardy reported Friday that 250 law enforcement officers in Connecticut have signed an open letter stating that they will not enforce the new anti-gun and magazine laws, which they consider to be a violation of the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.

A major news story on these developments is due to be published soon, but Hardy received an advanced notice via email from Tyler Jackson, the head of the Connecticut Peace Officers Association, the organization that sent the open letter.

According to Hardy,

“Tyler Jackson has emailed me an interesting story, soon to appear online (I’ll link to it once it does)– the gist is that the head of the Connecticut…

Can Police Search Your Cell Phone Without a Warrant? The Supreme Court is About to Decide | Liberty Blitzkrieg

Two very important cases related to the 4th Amendment protection of cellphone data went before the Supreme Court yesterday. At issue here is whether or not police can search someone’s cellphone upon arrest. As usual, the Obama administration’s Justice Department is arguing against the citizenry, and in favor of the (police) state. Let’s not forget that the “Justice” Department also argued in favor of the police being able to place GPS tracking devices on people’s cars without a warrant back in 2011. Fortunately, the Supreme Court ruled against it.

Naturally, the feds in the current case will discuss all of the criminals they were able to bring to justice as a result of these privacy violations, but they will certainly not point out America’s current epidemic of unlawful arrests, as well as arrests for petty non-violent crimes that happen each and every day. For instance, let’s not forget statistics that came out last fall from the FBI that showed police make an arrest every two seconds in the USA. I covered this in detail in my post: Land of the Free: American Police Make an Arrest Every 2 Seconds in 2012. Continue reading

This Dog Can Send You to Jail | Reason.com

“… He asked me would I mind if he searched my vehicle, and I said, ‘Well, yes, I would mind if you searched my vehicle.’ ”

But thanks to the U.S. Supreme Court, the deputy did not have to take no for an answer. In the 2005 case Illinois v. Caballes, the Court declared that “the use of a well-trained narcotics-detection dog…during a lawful traffic stop generally does not implicate legitimate privacy interests.” So the deputy was free to walk his dog around Burns’ truck. “He got out with this dog and went around the car, two or three times,” Burns says. “He came back and said the dog had ‘passively alerted’ on my vehicle.”  via This Dog Can Send You to Jail – Reason.com.

A Question About The NY Shooting | Eric Peters Autos

People who want to take guns away from citizens often argue that it’s dangerous for citizens to have guns. They will say, “innocent people will get shot in the crossfire” in the event an armed civilian uses a gun to stop an armed criminal.

I wonder what they’ll say about what just happened in NYC?

According to reports, a laid-off women’s clothing designer named Jeffrey Johnson, 58, decided to shoot his ex-boss. He pulled out a .45 pistol and did so – and was himself almost immediately gunned down by a gaggle of city cops. Problem is, the cops ending up shooting more people than the gunman.  Eight people were shot – by the cops. (news story here.)

Will the people who demand citizens be disarmed because “innocent people might get caught in the crossfire” now demand that cops be disarmed, for the same reason?  If not – why?

Will the “reckless” cops – who clearly can’t shoot straight – be held civilly and criminally responsible for shooting innocent bystanders – as a citizen surely would be?  If not, why?

Don’t forget that cops – as a matter of law – are under no obligation to protect any individual from harm. They are law enforcers – not protectors.

Protection – of our individual persons – is ultimately up to us.  Provided, of course, we are permitted to do so.

And provided, of course, that we aren’t caught in a cop crossfire.
