” The Jacksonville, Florida, city government is preparing to install more than 50 “intelligent” streetlights under a new General Electric pilot program.
In accordance with the “GE Intelligent City Initiative,” the “data-collecting” LED streetlights will be placed throughout the city’s downtown and surrounding areas.
According to a Thursday morning presentation by GE, the lights will be “interconnected with one another and will collect real-time data,” as reported by the Jacksonville Business Journal.
“ GE’s intelligent LEDs are a gateway to city-changing technology, with sensors, controls, wireless transmitters and microprocessors built within the LED system,” GE states.”

ORANGE PARK, FLA. — The death of a Navy commander found in a room at the Astoria Hotel on Feb. 12 was ruled a homicide, the Orange Park Police Department announced Wednesday.
The Jacksonville Medical Examiner’s Office made the ruling on Feb. 13 in the death of Cmdr. Alphonso Doss, 44, of Pensacola, according to the release from the OPPD.
Doss’ manner of death is not being released at this time while the OPPD and the Clay County Sheriff’s Office investigate.
Doss reported to Naval Education and Training Command in Nov. 2011, according to the Navy. While in Jacksonville, he was on Temporary Additional Duty orders at the Naval Aviation Technical Training Unit. Continue reading

We are free to love anyone or anything we desire in America, but that does not correlate to rights beyond the unalienable ones Jefferson articulated 237 years ago. In California we have a state-funded grant for the Los Angeles Unified School District to abuse the concept of public education by turning public schools into indoctrination factories, forcing children to spout the joys of Obamacare. Justice. Be careful what you wish for. Mansfield Frazier at the Daily Beast—a Newsweek outfit—says this in his columnabout the Travnor-Zimmerman brouhaha:
“So what would a fair outcome look like? To my mind, the government offers Zimmerman a plea deal that has him back on the street within this decade, and he accepts it quietly. That seems like a conclusion most reasonable Americans could live with… A protracted murder trial of George Zimmerman is the last thing this country needs right now. America can only dodge so many racial bullets, and a not-guilty verdict in this case could very easily turn the racial cold war into a very hot one.”
Fair outcome?! Fair to who? Did he also advise Rodney King or OJ Simpson to go quietly off to prison? This is insulting. It stinks of contempt for white people and justice alike. NORTH MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Fourteen blacks have been shot and two are dead in what may be one of the worst mass shootings in South Florida history and no one can seem to find Obama, Sharpton or Spike Lee to organize a rally, march on police stations, place bounties on the heads of the shooters or stage phony press conferences. This time it is fourteen innocent blacks shot, one a 5 year old girl! Two have died. Where’s the outrage?…
We know where it is. It doesn’t exist! None of these race-baiters give a damn about these 14 blacks that were fired upon for no reason, nor do they give one damn about Trayvon Martin! Instead they are disgracefully using his death to advance their racial narratives. To advance their racist civil liberties issues. To advance their Liberal views on gun control, on Florida’s “Stand your ground” law and to further divide this country down racial lines.
RANT WARNING: Joe Biden is an ideologue and an idiot, but he is part of a dangerous cabal that may flourish after November 2012. Make no mistake about it, if Obama is reelected there will almost certainly be a new initiative to regulate the personal ownership, possession and carrying of firearms in this country.
