FBI goes full-Stasi:  “Setting up ‘Responsibility Communities’ in NJ to stop terrorism”

Nothing to see here, this is all fine folks, Just move along.

FedGov is now openly programming thought monitoring and neighbor-snitching.  And, better yet, we also see once again that the mental health industry is merely one tentacle of state power.  (Dr. Szaz where are you?).  Same for your clergy  it seems.

JERSEY CITY, N.J. (CBSNewYork) — The Federal Bureau of Investigation is setting up shared responsibility committees in New Jersey to help stop home-grown terrorism.WCBS 880’s Mike Smeltz reported this partnership between communities and the FBI looks to use identification and mental health counseling as tools to those who might head down a path of extremism. The committees would include community leaders, clergy members and mental health professionals whose goal would be to identify those who might support terrorist activities and stopping it before ideas turn into plans. This would be someone who’s expressed support for a terrorist group, either in a community meeting or online. The Record reported that some in the Muslim community in New Jersey are worried that this program will effectively turn community members into government informants. The FBI said this initiative is about heading off extremism before law enforcement gets involved.  Source: FBI Setting Up Responsibility Communities In NJ To Stop Terrorism

The Root of Rising Inequality: Our “Lawnmower” Economy (hint: we’re the lawn)

STRAIGHT LINE LOGIC

In a global economy in which debt is the foundation (see Debtonomics Archive), it should come as no surprise that debt merchants have done better than most. It should also come as no surprise when myriad debt bubbles eventually pop and the global economy is put through the wringer. From Charles Hugh Smith at oftwominds.com:

This predatory exploitation is only possible if the central bank and state have partnered with financial Elites.

After decades of denial, the mainstream has finally conceded that rising income and wealth inequality is a problem–not just economically, but politically, for as we all know wealth buys political influence/favors, and as we’ll see below, the federal government enables and enforces most of the skims and scams that have made the rich richer and everyone else poorer.

Here’s the problem in graphic form: from 1947 to 1979, the family income of the top 1% actually expanded…

NJ TRANSIT defends recording conversations, video on trains

The director of NJ TRANSIT on Tuesday defended the use of audio surveillance systems on some of its trains Tuesday, as some questioned the monitoring’s legal and ethical underpinnings.Audio and video recording currently is in use on the River Line between Trenton and Camden and will be in use on similar light rail trains in Newark and in Hudson County, NJ TRANSIT said Tuesday. … the agency is using whatever tools at its disposal to “deter criminal activity” and keep passengers safe, citing global terror attacks.

“In light of terrorist attacks on mass transit facilities around the world, New Jersey Transit is availing itself of the latest technology to deter that, always keeping in mind the privacy rights of our customers,”

You should have left us alone | Kerodin

Kerodin III blog

Remember: You Red bastards asked for this – not us.

All we wanted was to be left alone, to live our lives without your meddling.  We’ve tolerated you long enough.  We’ve tolerated your icons long enough.  If you wish to leave, now is the time.

Once we begin, we will not stop until you are gone.  We intend to live our lives at Liberty. We mean that our children and grandchildren will do the same, free of your tyrannies.

You should have left us alone.

The Defender’s Creed, by John Farnam

minuteman-colonialI accept and understand that human predators exist. Criminal or terrorist, they take advantage of our civilized society to prey upon the weak. They represent evil and must be confronted and defeated.

I believe that self-defense is a moral imperative, and that illegitimate force and illegal violence must be met with righteous indignation and superior violence.

I will not rely on others for the security of myself, my family and my community. I proudly proclaim that I run with a like-minded pack. I do not amble through life with the mind-numbed herd.

I will train with my chosen weapons, maintain them and carry them in a condition of readiness at all times. I will be mentally prepared and physically equipped to effectively respond to an attack or emergency.

I will constantly test myself against realistic standards to discover my strengths and weaknesses. I will turn weakness into strength.

I will seek to learn new skills and techniques, and then teach what I have learned to other members of the pack. Be it with firearm or blade, empty hand or blunt object, I will hit my enemies hard, fast and true.

I will live a quiet and unobtrusive life, but I will develop and retain the capacity for swift and decisive violence. I recognize that I am the modern equivalent of the traditional Minuteman, and that I may be called to service at any time against heavily armed enemies. I will respond effectively.

sheepdog1
Beware – I am a sheepdog.

I accept that I am a pariah among some of my countrymen, and a quaint anachronism to others.

I will not hold their ignorance against them.

I will win, or die trying.

I swear this creed before God, my family and my fellow citizens.

The death of radio frequency scanning and monitoring? Federal FirstNet project gets underway in New Jersey as JerseyNet.

Firstnet

FirstNet is an independent authority within the U.S. Department of Commerce’s National Telecommunications and Information Administration. FirstNet is governed by a 15-member Board consisting of the Attorney General of the United States, the Secretary of Homeland Security, the Director of the Office of Management and Budget, and 12 members appointed by the Secretary of Commerce. The FirstNet Board is composed of representatives from public safety; local, state and federal government; and the wireless industry. These dedicated individuals bring their expertise, experience and commitment to serving public safety and meeting the FirstNet mission…

Fierce Wireless Tech reports:

jerseynet_logoSetting out to meet an ambitious timeline, first responders in three regions of New Jersey are expected later this year to use a new dedicated public-safety LTE network composed entirely of deployable infrastructure operating on 700 MHz Band 14 spectrum licensed to the First Responder Network Authority (FirstNet), IWCE’s Urgent Communications reports.

PMC Associates, a New Jersey-based company specializing in mission-critical radio solutions for first responders, is teaming up with Oceus Networks and Fujitsu Network Communications to build the proof-of-concept network, known as JerseyNet.

PMC Associates is providing integration and support services, while Oceus Networks is supplying the LTE core and the radio access network (RAN). Fujitsu is designing, equipping and managing the wireless and wireline backhaul portions of the network.

Bryan Casciano, vice president of sales for PMC Associates, told IWCE’s Urgent Communications that JerseyNet is designed to include more than 30 cells on wheels (COWs) and six systems on wheels (SOWs) that can be deployed in various locations via SUVs, vans or trailers.

Under the terms of its Broadband Technology Opportunities Program (BTOP) funding, the JerseyNet deployment must be completed by September, a requirement that is expected to be met under the current schedule. “We want to have all of this installed by June,” Casciano told the publication….

BATFE attempts to intimidate patriot blog-o-sphere by attacking the Charles Carroll Society over coverage | CCS

“I believe that being despised by the despicable is as good as being admired by the admirable.”  — Kurt Hoffman, in his Armed & Safe blog

Out of the entire Internet, the Charles Carroll Society and The Federalist Papers are singled out by the BATFE and US Attorney for their coverage of the immoral and unconstitutional raids conducted by the BATFE against Ares Armor.  Why do you think the BATFE and the Obama administration has personally attacked this blog?

ares-armor0

In one of the most amazing things I have ever seen, the BATFE, one of the most lawless agencies we have has targeted this small community here on the Charles Carroll Society (CCS). The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (BATFE), specifically the United States Attorney listed the Charles Carrol Society as the example for their reason not to provide the names of the federal agents who lied to support the novel decision (that means B.S. for the rest of us) to say that an 80% lower is a firearm.  Why didn’t they target the Drudge Report? Why not Alex Jones Info War?  Those blogs covered the unconstitutional seizure of customer records from Ares Armor.   Because those blogs have lawyers and they have very loud voices.  Why not Cam at NRA News?  They wouldn’t dare.  They attack the smallest blogs.  Please forward this to the largest voices in the patriot blog-o-sphere and ask them to cover itContinue reading

The “prepper/survivalist/patriot/III %” community has absolutely zero social or political import, because the public face of the community is a bunch of fat, lazy, self-important redneck fucks who are failures in modern society. Despite the guns and macho-blustering bravado, the community poses absolutely zero real threat to the mainstream status quo, and the mainstream status quo recognizes that.  All “they” have to do is point at the idiots—the “crazy gun nuts” and the “whacky survivalists,” and the sheep giggle and join in the finger-pointing and mockery. That’s not going to change, until you begin to be able to convince people that you are not just a string hanging on the fringe.

Until that changes, nothing changes….

Will You be a Part of the Solution?
“The right of all Americans to carry concealed has been trampled upon when it comes to traveling with a firearm outside of one’s home state.” — GOA Director of Federal Affairs Chris Stone, in the upcoming Sept. 1 issue of The Gun Owners newsletterIf you’ve been following the GOA Facebook page, you’re familiar with the story of Shaneen Allen.

She is a single mother of two who is being persecuted for exercising her Second Amendment rights.

Living in Philadelphia and working two jobs, Shaneen had already been the victim of previous robberies because she had to work late at night.  So she bought a handgun, took a gun safety course and got a concealed carry permit.

Unfortunately, when she was stopped for a minor traffic violation in New Jersey, she thought she was doing the right thing when she announced…

Can Police Search Your Cell Phone Without a Warrant? The Supreme Court is About to Decide | Liberty Blitzkrieg

Two very important cases related to the 4th Amendment protection of cellphone data went before the Supreme Court yesterday. At issue here is whether or not police can search someone’s cellphone upon arrest. As usual, the Obama administration’s Justice Department is arguing against the citizenry, and in favor of the (police) state. Let’s not forget that the “Justice” Department also argued in favor of the police being able to place GPS tracking devices on people’s cars without a warrant back in 2011. Fortunately, the Supreme Court ruled against it.

Naturally, the feds in the current case will discuss all of the criminals they were able to bring to justice as a result of these privacy violations, but they will certainly not point out America’s current epidemic of unlawful arrests, as well as arrests for petty non-violent crimes that happen each and every day. For instance, let’s not forget statistics that came out last fall from the FBI that showed police make an arrest every two seconds in the USA. I covered this in detail in my post: Land of the Free: American Police Make an Arrest Every 2 Seconds in 2012. Continue reading

Why Things Will Get Worse – Much Worse | ZeroHedge

Originally posted at Monty Pelerin’s World blog,

It is easy to be upset about what is happening all around. The economy is being destroyed, deliberately, by insane economic policies. Incentives to work are being eliminated by punishing work. At the same time rewards are increasing for not working. Not surprisingly we get less of what we penalize (work) and more of what we subsidize (non-work).

bread-lines-food-shortage-depression

As an economist I get sick over what I see happening to what was once a great engine of productivity, capital creation and improvements in standards of living.

After two centuries of progress that amazed the world, the conditions necessary for growth and productivity are steadily being removed. Their presence allowed the miracle of America. Their absence guarantees the decline. Carried to extreme, the US could become a second or third-world nation within a few decades. Virtually all changes in the last five to ten years point in this direction and these changes are accelerating.

As pained as the economic retrogression is, the loss of freedom is even more disturbing. It was free markets and free men that made America the dominant economic power and the beacon of freedom. Without freedom, no economic policy can succeed. Yet, just as economic policies seem designed to destroy rather than create, so too does the role of government as steadily destroys freedom with its expanded oppression and power. The absence of freedom is tyranny. The absence of freedom is also poverty.

Economic decline is difficult to convey, although data are useful.

The decline of liberty, however, is not easily quantifiable and even more difficult to communicate. An email from Simon Black, expresses his concern regarding Leviathan government and its increasing oppression. It provides as good a qualitative measure of what is occurring to freedom in this country:

By now it should be clear to anyone paying attention that most of Western civilization is on a dangerous slide into tyranny.

They’re confiscating funds directly from people’s bank accounts. They’re seizing reporters’ personal records and phone logs. They’re digitally spying on everyone’s emails.

They’ve authorized military detention and drone assassination of their own citizens.

They’re using tax offices to harass political opposition groups.

They tell us what we are allowed to eat and drink, what foods we are allowed to put in our own body.

Think about it. These are Soviet tactics, plain and simple.

What’s more, they don’t even care. They think we’re all idiots who are too stupid to even notice what they’re doing.

In fact, just a few days ago, Barack Obama staunchly defended his policies, saying “you can complain about Big Brother. . . but when you actually look at the details, then I think we’ve struck the right balance.” This is textbook sociopathic behavior: destructive, antisocial conduct and a complete lack of conscience.

Unfortunately this is just the beginning.

Imagine what it will look like in a few more years: trillions of dollars of more debt… more printed currency. More police state tactics. More invasions of privacy. More ridiculous regulations.

Bitcoin and Kim Dotcom: Why it’s Time to “Encrypt Everything” | libertyblitzkrieg.com

Encryption may end up being the biggest trend in 2013, as the concept, usage and term itself move from the realm of computer geeks and hackers into mainstream consciousness. The reason why such a moment must occur relates to the fact that governments and intelligence agencies the world over are rapidly moving in the direction of spying on their citizenry twenty four hours a day, seven days a week. Those of us that don’t like this privacy invasion will have to move toward encrypting as much of our daily lives as possible. Continue reading

“A Time to Kill by L.T.”, with Comments | Grey Enigma

Posted 15 Jan. 2013.

Quite a few years ago I swore an Oath – one not too dissimilar from the one the titular leaders of our Republic swore as well.  In my case, here is what I promised:

I do solemnly swear that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice.  So help me God.

I and many other patriotic Americans are at or nearing a breaking point regarding the actions of our leaders and the direction of this country.  To those who would say that we are disaffected, unemployed stressed out rednecks, bitterly clinging to our God and guns, I assure that you’re kidding yourself.  We are your neighbors, friends, uncles, coaches, pastors, scoutmasters, store clerks  and mailmen.  We are, by most measures, most of the people in this nation. … Instead of liquidating the debt and allowing the economy to reach a sound footing, both the Hoover and Roosevelt administrations attempted to manage it back to health. The result was the longest period of unemployment ever recorded in American history…

The media establishment, not to be outdone, is also on the side of intervention. Government is looked to as a savior while markets are seen as inadequate in providing for a satisfactory standard of living. With their incessant need to fix what isn’t broke, the political class is praised for their courage to take the reins of society and direct it toward a meaningful and just way of life… via What Happened to Virtue?.

Economic Fallacies And The Fight For Liberty | ZeroHedge

…What passes for informed economic analysis is becoming more unhinged from reality by the day. The very same solutions are being offered that had a hand in causing the crisis to begin with. That is: interest rates suppressed beyond market levels, increased government spending, economic micro-management, housing market stimulus, and more accommodating monetary policy. Getting out of the way and allowing the economy to reach sound footing is too radical of an option for the busybodies of the state. Still, Keynesianism continues to fall short. Intellectuals of the school keep failing to recognize the harm their theories cause. Their policy recommendations are a rehashing of the same fundamentally pro-state theory: government needs to spend more and more money needs to be printed into circulation.

Meanwhile the average private sector or low-wage worker sees a system stacked against him. Public sector workers receive better pay and benefits. Politically connected banks and large financial companies are bailed out for poor business decisions. Industries totally under government supervision such as health care and education have become terribly inefficient. Countless lives are lost or ruined from wars based on lies. The prices for necessities at the supermarket are always inching upward. Privacy is trampled upon by overzealous law enforcement. Wallets are treated like a grab bag by tax collectors. And the solution put forth is always bigger, more intrusive government. The false dichotomy of liberal versus conservative is played out in the West as if there is an actual difference between the two. In short, it’s only a matter of time before the ideas ignored by the establishment are given more serious consideration by the greater public… via Guest Post: Economic Fallacies And The Fight For Liberty | ZeroHedge.
